Hi, I’m Emily, the eye behind the lens

Maison Jean is about capturing what beautiful moments stick out to me in each scene. I see through a lens even when I don't have a camera on me, noticing throughout my day how beautiful something simple looks, then running off to find a camera before the moment passes.  My favorite magic is when I edit an image and it transports me back. Not just visually, I mean the feeling of standing there, the light, the emotions, the moment.

Travel pushes me out of my comfort zone and introduces me to experiences I never could have imagined. I take little pieces of every place I visit and weave them into my everyday life. Full days with open eyes.

Maison Jean is named after my grandmother Jean. She was warm, grounded, funny, and my best friend.  She was always so put together, would show up to my soccer games in a full suit, hair, makeup, nails done.

She would drive me around so I could take photographs all over my town growing up. She believed in my eye before I did.

She passed away when I was 17, and this brand is everything she inspired.

Has my photography inspired you to travel?

Amazing, I cannot be more excited for you and your future travels.  Whether you're planning your first trip to Europe or looking for somewhere new to add to the list, I've been there and I'll tell you what actually matters.

Has my photography inspired you to work together?

I work with hotels, resorts, travel brands, and lifestyle brands to create imagery that makes people feel something (and want to book, buy, or go). If that sounds like what you need, I'd love to hear about your project.

Has my photography inspired your own?

The way I edit is a big part of how my images feel. My Lightroom presets are built from years of travel and thousands of images. They're a starting point, not a formula and made to be adjusted to your own eye.
